Bovec is undoubtedly among the best outdoor spots in all of Slovenia. There, the Susec Canyon will give you a first approach to the wonders of canyoning, an amazing and adrenaline-inducing sport!
Canyoning is one of the most popular sports, but it first became famous in France in the '80s. This sport involves making your way down a natural canyon that has been carved by a small stream of water. Putting several techniques into practice, such as jumping and sliding down natural slides, or rappeling down high waterfalls. Bovec is, according to experts, one of the best places in Europe to try this sport.
The Susec Canyon is perfect if you have never done canyoning before. This canyon is just a 10-minute drive from Bovec and is one of the most popular canyons in Europe. The Susec features nice slides and jumps, that get higher as you move down the canyon which can be described as a natural water park, carved into the rock!
The last 12m (40ft) slide into a deep pool will give you a nice adrenaline rush! In case you're not up to it, there's always a path around the waterfalls, so you can skip the most intimidating parts. This is one of the reasons why the Susec Canyon is perfect for families!
