Activity description

Table Mountain is as iconic as The Matterhorn and just happens to have a modern, cosmopolitan, city at its feet - Cape Town. Not only does Cape Town have gorgeous beaches and amazing wine, but mountain playgrounds are easily found, Table Mountain being the most iconic and certainly the most accessible.

The rock climbing is predominantly located on the northern (city) and western (Atlantic) faces, each offering excellent and technical multi pitch traditional climbing above uniquely spectacular views.

You'll be met at the lower cable station. This allows the guide to secure early queue space. Half day Table Mountain trips will include abseiling and then climbing 3-4 pitches of rock (depending on the route choice) - in the morning and followed by the same for a full day on the other side of the mountain, in the afternoon.

Clients must note that the tours do not include cable car fees or catering for lunch or snacks due to broad dietary needs people have.

Staircase:
Perched high above the Western Seaboard, this superb route weaves its way around some of the most impressive (and difficult) cliffs of the mountain and gives a sense of big, airy climbing at a very moderate grade. Oft used to finish the integral ascent. Ideal for the beginner or first outdoor climb.

The classic on Table Mountain.

Clean and sustained climbing with a very exposed traverse in the middle, guaranteed to make you feel high. Simply exquisite, 'Jacobs' is not for those with a fear of heights. The best way to look down on the Camps Bay and Clifton dwellers occasionally used to finish the integral ascent. Ideal for people who have climbed outdoors at the grade.

Some of the finest technical, flowing climbing available at the grade! The climbing - move for move - is sustained and engaging with an airy traverse around a roof to add spice. Amazing route directly above the City.

Had a great day out with Gerhard of vertical adventures! He was super friendly, and was able to adapt the day to my climbing level and comfort. Felt totally safe all day, great condition gear and all around the best way to see the views for table mountain.

Teodore was our guide. The whole experience was fantastic. Myself and wife did it. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Being beginner climbers he made us feel very safe. Tristan the owner of Vertigo adventures who was my first point of contact was great to deal with, professional and very helpfull.
