Panoramic views of Wilderness beach, Kaaimans River mouth, and the Outeniqua Tjoe-Choo railway line. You will catch Cradock Peak in the distance. This location offers excellent soaring conditions with south-eastern winds. Top-landings or beach-landings depending on the conditions.
Take off from Cloud 9, an ancient sand dune north of Sedgefield. Panoramic views of the coastline: Gericke’s Point, Swartvlei Lake, Groenvlei Lake, and the Outeniqua Mountains in the distance. This site is the most consistent in South Africa with suitable conditions including thermic and soaring conditions year-round.
Kleinkrantz Car Park / Kleinkrantz Dunes:
Pristine coastline and marine life between Wilderness in the west to Gericke’s Point in the east and the Wilderness Lakes inland of the coastal dunes. Offers stable soaring conditions with south-western to south-eastern winds and safe beach-landings.
Wilderness Views Hotel:
Accessible site along the N2 main road through Wilderness. Beautiful views of the ocean and regular sightings of dolphins and whales (in-season). This location offers soaring conditions in southern to south-western winds. Top-landings or beach-landings depend on the conditions.
