If you are visiting Andalucia or the famous Costa del Sol and are looking for a unique adventure, come canyoning in Rio Verde, Malaga!

Canyoning consists of descending streams and canyons formed by rivers, no matter if the river is dry or not, although it is more fun when there is water! A confluence point for many mountain and adventure sports, canyoning combines climbing and rappelling techniques with some swimming and diving. Maneuvering through obstacles, you will explore the river.

SaltaRios instructors have created three different outings for you to choose from depending on the adrenaline rush you feel like, a family fun option, a more challenging half-day excursion and a full-day canyoning experience that will put you to the test. You will leave from Otivar, 20 minutes from Almuñecar, 1 hour from Granada and 1 hour from Malaga.

This portion of the Rio Verde canyon offers you a family-fun descent of about 2 and half hours which is available all year round.

This part of the canyon doesn't have abseils but it does have lots of jumps into natural pools.

Approach: 15 min.
Descent: 2 hours
Exit: 30 min.
