This is one of the most popular via ferrata in Costa Brava, its location on the coast makes it easily accessible, and its position above sea gives it a unique holiday atmosphere and it is interesting and challenging yet achievable! It takes seaside scrambling over rocks to the next level.
Via Ferratas are rock paths, which are secured by iron elements to make it easier to get on. Brings hikers into the vertical world and let them experience emotional impressions that you only get when you go climbing.
The via ferrata lies just south of Sant Feliu de Guixols in a protected area listed as a Pla d'Espais d'Natural Interest of Catalonia, a protected and beautiful really close to town.
Reaching the via ferrata takes a 20-minute walk along a GR footpath to the start of the route. The route follows the cliffs around the inlets of Cala Moli. Some of the highlights of this via ferrata are the 4 bridges used to cross the deep chasms that characterize this part of the rocky coast.
The first bridge is a narrow plank that sets the scene for a double wire cable and a short single cable bridges that follow. The last bridge crosses a wide gap with 3 cables for the hands and a couple for you to step on. The most physical section is almost round with a short section on a slightly overhanging wall - short, but sharp.
This via ferrata is generally not too strenuous, although one section does overhang gently placing more weight on the arms. There are some cable bridges that need a little confidence.
