La Rafting Company will take you to two of the most outstanding green parks in the Catalonian Pyrenees. With them you'll immerse into the depths and hidden paths, giving you the opportunity to roam around and experience nature.
The trekking spots:
Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park
Established in 1995, is the only national park located in Catalonian soil. It is located in the central area of the Pyrenees, at the northern part of the Province of Lleida. On the most eastern side the river Noguera Pallaresa passes by, flowing into the lake Saint Mauricio. On the western part, the river Noguera Ribagorzana flows.
The National Park is one of Catalonia’s landmarks due to the large biodiversity of the area, and the unbelievably beautiful mountainous wild scenery. Colours contrast every season, creating one of the most outstanding panoramas in the area.
Alt Pirineu Natural Park
The largest natural park in Catalonia, was established in 2003 and covers up 70 thousand hectares. It also has the highest peaks in the Catalonian Pyrenees and has incredible lakes and streams all around.
It has the most complete fauna in the Catalonian territory, with western capercaillie, golden eagle, brown bear, and many more species. The rivers Noguera Pallaresa, Noguera Vallferrera and Cardos pass by, giving birth to many lakes in the natural park.
In both of them you'll be able to ascend to high peaks whilst getting some insightful information about the national and natural park. Here there are over 200 lakes of glacier origins, unimaginable colourful scenery and tranquil valleys and woods.
