Navigate by the stars on this twilight dog sledging experience in Lulea!
Trust your inner compass as you navigate the arctic taiga by night. With nothing but a headlamp and the heavens to guide your way, lead your pack through an ethereal winter wonderland, following tracks in the snow to a rural cabin deep in the woods. Choose to drive your own sled or share the experience with someone special, exploring Swedish Lapland like a local...
This activity is run and operated from a traditional farmhouse 30-minutes drive outside Lulea - a northerly county in Sweden. Situated on the outskirts of the Taiga (boreal forest), this area is part of Swedish Lapland.
Meet the team at the activity base near Lulea for this evening dog sledding excursion. A chance to navigate Lapland's iconic winter terrain at night, this hands-on experience puts you in control - driving your own pack of dogs under the supervision of an experienced musher. Like all great adventures in Lapland, your lesson starts with kitting up in the right equipment (snow boots, outerwear and a torch) heading to the kennels where you'll be introduced to your pack and learn how to harness up. You'll learn a few commands and techniques before you follow the lead musher into the woods - with nothing but a torchlight and your dog's intuition to lead the way. Stopping to give the dogs a break and stargaze, if you've chosen to share a sled, this is where you can change drivers - travelling back through the snow-laden woods to a traditional log cabin. Here, you'll say goodbye to your Huskies and head inside for hot drinks and local snacks - the perfect end to an authentic Lapland experience!
Operating during the winter season from December to March, this activity is suitable for anyone of good physical fitness 13 years and up. A 10 km route, choose a private or shared sled option.
