Made for the brave – raft & camp on this whitewater journey down the White Nile.
An original combo tour that excels on both travel and tradition, immerse yourself in this experience down the White Nile – paddling from Lake Victoria down some of the most exciting rapids in the world - pitching your tents along the banks of this infamous waterway and counting stars in the wilderness. A two-day adventure you’ll never forget.
Operating on a section of the River Nile between Jinja and Kampala, this activity travels from Bujagali Dam on a two-day 25km III-V rapid run near Lake Victoria. Rapids range in difficulty including Vengeance, Hair of the Dog and Kulu Shake. Camping is on the Nile overlooking Bujagali just 6kms from Jinja, with a spectacular view of the Nile, brilliant sunsets and beautiful surroundings.
Meet your rafting guide in Jinja for this two-day raft & camp experience on the River Nile. An hour transfer to the river embarkment area by Bujagali Dam, start with comprehensive safety training and technique breakdown before you hit the water with your in-boat guide. Day one starts with a series of rapids that include the world-famous Bubugo and Superhole, the afternoon is spent riverboarding on a standing wave – stopping for a light lunch before tackling the last rapids- and the biggest of the day - the incredible Itanda Falls and the 'Bad Place'. Arriving at the campground before dusk, light refreshments will be waiting whilst the team sets up camp – after which you’ll all sit round the camp fire for a well-deserved BBQ and enjoy evening entertainment from a local women's group. Day 2 sees a big breakfast to get you going before pushing out into another day of whitewater action. There will also be a chance to break our the riverboards and stop to surf as many waves as you can handle (water level dependent). Reaching the end of the river run, there will be a few refreshments before you return back to your accommodation.
10 units which can be configured as single, twin or double occupancy. Each Safari Tent includes bedding, luggage rack and has solar lighting in keeping with a“GREEN” policy.
The White Nile River run is a physically demanding and challenging experience for adventurous first timers. Water level dependent there are 3 line choices here all depending on how brave you are feeling! Age restrictions apply.
