Activity description

Explore Big Red at sunrise with this quad bike & sand boarding package in Dubai's Red Desert.

Experience morning from the tallest dune in the Red Desert on this sunrise experience from the top of Big Red. A natural milestone in a constant state of change, this 30ft ridge has been a beacon of life for Bedouin caravans since before the birth of modern-day Dubai. Retrace the area’s most iconic feature on this quad bike & sand boarding package in the Al Madam plateau…

Location
This activity takes place in the Red Desert in Dubai. Located near Sharjah City, it is home to the area’s biggest dune ‘Big Red’ near Al Badayer. Part of the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area, it is renowned among 4x4 enthusiasts as having some of the UAE’s most impressive dunes.

Activity
Meet your guide at the activity base in Al Badayer for this sunrise quad biking & sand boarding experience in the Red Desert. An ancient landscape that is renowned for its shifting peaks and iconic red sand, spend a morning exploring the largest sand desert in the world with an experienced guide. Travelling from the shoreline resorts to the undulating Al Madam valley, start with a short safety briefing and demo before you set off into the unknown. Following a local guide, trace the contours of the desert – travelling along historical Bedouin trade routes still used today. Encompassing most of the southern third of the Arabian Peninsula, the Rub-al-Khali desert is one of the planet’s most impressive sand formations. From knife-edge ridges to vast plains that meet the horizon, learn how to manoeuvre in shifting sands – slaloming down slopes and climbing high to the top of Big Red – the desert’s tallest dune. From here, you’ll get a chance to try sandboarding – using this impressive peak as your playground. Mark the moment with postcard-quality photos of the desert before you return to the activity base, where a shuttle service will be waiting to transfer you back to your accommodation.
