Activity description

Experience two 3-hour activities in the famous Chobe National Park. Get the best of both worlds in specially adapted open 4x4s and by boat. This is a unique opportunity to experience some of the best game viewings in Africa close up.

The morning begins with a river cruise into the park, with an opportunity to see a host of waders and water birds along with the ever-present crocodile and hippos. Chobe is known for scores of large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink, most notably buffalo and elephant. Puku and lechwe are often seen on the islands and on the banks; kudus, impalas, and waterbucks are common.

A buffet lunch is served at the newly renovated and ideally located Chobe Safari Lodge, bordering the National Park.

After a one-hour lunch break, you'll head out at 1:30 pm on the game drive in the Chobe National Park. Getting close to nature with specially adapted 4x4 open vehicles. There are frequent lion sightings in Chobe, and sable and roan antelope are common at certain times of the year. Leopards are elusive, but common in the area – you may be lucky!

After a 3-hour game drive, you will be returned to the border at 4:30 pm for your return transfer to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival at the Botswana border, you will proceed through immigration and then drive 1km down to the Zimbabwe border. At the Zimbabwe border, you'll pass through the border formalities and then walk through the border gate to your vehicle. You will then transfer back to Victoria Falls, which will take approximately 45 minutes to one hour. You'll be returned to your accommodation by 6:00 pm.

Course of events

You'll be picked up from your Victoria Falls accommodation at 7:30 am and transferred to the Kazungula border post. The transfer takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Upon arrival at the Zimbabwe border post, you will pass through Customs and Immigration, where your passport will be stamped.

Once the formalities are done, you will walk through the border gate where you will get into an open 4x4 vehicle. You'll then drive 1km up to the Botswana border post. During the safari, you'll stop and stand on a sanitized mat to prevent you from carrying foot and mouth and other diseases into the country.

At the Botswana border, you will be given an immigration form, which you will need to complete before going to the Immigration counter with your passport. Once your passport has been stamped, you will return to the vehicle.

Your game viewing experience is now ready to begin!
