Founded in 2005, Altai is a bespoke tour operator offering outdoor adventures in Greenland. Representing a team of wilderness and adventure travel experts who specialize in organising active trips in a range of different locations across Greenland, their tours explore Disko Bay, West Greenland and, in the Ammasaalik area of East Greenland.

Providing both tailor-made and group trips - all their itineraries are nature orientated active adventures that combine exploring with hand's on skill building. Harnessing the team's international experience and local expertise, Altai's unwavering focus on safety allows them to venture into the heart of Greenlands unspoilt and truly remote wilderness.

A chance to really challenge your perceptions and redefine what wild really means, their unique tours travel to parts of the country rarely visited by tourists. Their newest base is only 21km from Ilulissat - and one of the smallest villages in Greenland - and the world. Currently home to just  42 residents Oqaatsut village is renowned for its a direct view to icebergs in Disko Bay.

Armed with an abundance of experience and a wealth of knowledge, their professional team know the countryside and its quirks well. Highly qualified guides are all English speaking outdoor practitioners who have a passion for everything Greenlandic. Explore the Oqaatsut backcountry spotted with lakes, and if your feet are up for a half day scenic walk follow the marked hiking trail between Ilulissat and Oqaatsut.
