Surfing Life Club
Surfing Life Club is the first surf school of Porto, founded in 1994 under the name João Diogo Surf school.
The surf school based on Matosinhos Beach offers a range of services covering different areas: regular classes every day of the year, with certified instructors who provider personalised technical advice, surf safaris, surf camps, partnerships with city councils, companies and social projects for disabled people.
Surfing Life Club was the first national school with mobile operation (van to transport passengers to the beaches and to perform surf safaris and taxi surf), the first in Portugal to train students to competition level and take athlete João Guedes national champion sub 12 and sub 14. It was also the first surf school in Porto with a permanent operation, which allowed the team to teach and practice surfing every day of the year.
After several stages of surf in Australia, João Diogo, always aiming at contributing to the development of the sport, such as the launch of SURF EDUCA® program in Portugal. This also marked the beginning of the special education project with students with mental disabilities, in partnership with APPACDM currently also provided with classes for autistic children and young people.
In 2009, the new facilities are inaugurated, under the promenade of Matosinhos Beach. Thus, the Surfling Life School now has greater comfort, offering lockers, changing rooms, enclosed space for support of birthday parties, meetings, technical material exposure, theoretical classroom for viewing footage of the lectures and workshops presentations, conducting functional training.
