Langevin River, Saint-Joseph: What to do when you get there ?

Discover the activities to do around the Langevin river, in Saint-Joseph! Still wild and authentic, the south coast of the Réunion Island offers superb activities to enjoy its unique landscapes and atmosphere.

Although less touristy than the west coast of Réunion Island, the region of Saint-Joseph, in the south of the island, has nothing to envy it. It is even highly recommended to visit the southern coastline to discover superb landscapes and viewpoints that you will not see anywhere else on the island! Let's start with the beaches: between the black sand beach of Ti Sable in Manapany-les-Bains and the one of Grande Anse mixing white and black sand, it's hard to say which one is the most beautiful! And even if swimming is forbidden because of the sharks, you can easily find other things to do: beach games, a nice walk along the water's edge, or simply do nothing! In addition, the Manapany Basin, just a stone's throw from Ti Sable beach, is sure to please you if you feel like swimming.

The southern coast of Réunion Island is a place where wild and preserved nature thrives, particularly admirable from its numerous cliffs, including those of Marine Langevin, Cap Jaune, and especially those of Cap Méchant, which are black in colour, contrasting with the blue of the water and the green of the vegetation.

The region of Saint-Joseph is particularly known for its waterfalls along the Langevin River: the Trou Noir and Langevin Grand Galet waterfalls are famous spots for canyoning and water hiking. It is also possible to do accrobranche (tree climbing), and to go over the Langevin river on a zip line: sensations guaranteed! Hiking is also an activity that can be done in Saint-Joseph, through the forests inland, along trails such as the one at Cap Blanc.

If you are looking for authentic natural landscapes on the Réunion Island, the region of Saint-Joseph and its Langevin River will be sure to please you!
