Salta: What to do when you get there?

Salta is located in the most north-westerly province in Argentina. Called “Salta la linda” (translation: the pretty), the city used to be the southernmost division between the Collasuyu & Incan Empire. As dream location of numerous adrenaline sports, Salta’s surroundings go from rivers, mountain ranges & other destinations that offer a plethora of adventure sports!

Adrenaline travellers can enjoy white-water rafting or kayaking in the Juramento River, whose waters can go from class II up to class V. Enjoy of bungee jumping, abseiling or paragliding in Cabra Corral Dam, giving the perfect adrenaline dose.

Mountain bound thrill seekers can go to Quebrada de Humahuaca, a highland valley located a few kilometres away. Perfect for MTB riders who love challenging downhill & uphill rides. As well as trekkers that desire to unveil the secrets of South American summits.

On the other hand, vacationers with a love for heights can always hop on the world’s highest train journey Tren a las Nubes. A 217km long train ride that will take you up 4,220metres above sea level. Afterwards you can kick-back and relax having some wine in the heart of the wine-producing region Calchaquies Valley.
