Saint-François: What to do when you get there ?

Discover the activities to do in Saint-François! Very lively, Saint-François is a commune of Grande-Terre full of activities to do and things to see!

Located in the south-east of Guadeloupe, Saint-François faces both the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Caribbean Sea to the south. This situation offers different types of coastal landscapes, with white sandy beaches, but also rocks, especially on its famous peninsula, the Pointe des Châteaux. This is an emblematic place of Guadeloupe that every visitor should visit on foot or by mountain bike! Starting from the beautiful beach of Anse à la Gourde, follow the Atlantic coast of the peninsula and pass by the beaches of Anse Tarare, Anse à Plume, then the beach of Grande Anse des Salines where it is recommended to watch the sunrise, the panorama on the island of La Désirade a little further ahead making this moment unique. The path will then take you to Anse des Châteaux, then to Pointe des Colibris, to the east. You will then descend to Pointe La Chaise to pass by the Caribbean Sea and its superb white sand beaches: Baie Degrat and Anse Kahouanne, until La Douche, a unique spot that lives up to its name!

After a morning spent walking along the Pointe des Châteaux, a swim at Anse Kanouanne, Anse Mancenillier or Anse Champagne is well deserved on the way back to the marina of Saint-François where you can enjoy a good local meal. The seaside is very lively and offers many water activities for the rest of the day: between diving trips, jet ski trips, surfing or kitesurfing lessons on the Raisins Clairs beach, you will have plenty to keep you busy! One of the most important things to do in Saint-François is to go on an excursion to La Désirade and Marie-Galante, but also to spend a day on a catamaran around the islands of Petite-Terre, out of time!

If you want to enjoy other beaches for sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling, the coastline towards Sainte-Anne offers Anse des Rochers and Anse à la Barque, while the Atlantic coastline towards Le Moule has Anse à l'Eau beach. The more sporty will surely appreciate the Rouleaux beach which, as its name suggests, is perfect for surfing enthusiasts.

If you're looking for something else to do besides beach activities, don't hesitate to venture inland among the sugar cane fields on a quad bike or buggy! And to end your stay in Saint-François, or even in Guadeloupe in the most beautiful way, head to the airport of Saint-François: from here, you can take off for an extraordinary parachute jump over Grande-Terre, or take off for a panoramic flight in a microlight to discover the islands of Guadeloupe from the sky, an incredible activity not to be missed!

If you are looking for unforgettable activities during your trip to Guadeloupe, Saint-François will have something for you!

Even though I spent most of the day paddling, I loved every minute. And the feeling of standing and surfing is amazing. Only wish I had more time to practice.

1h30 de beauté pure et de magie. Pascal Barlier est un excellent pilote (ARCHIPEL) en qui on peut avoir toute confiance et super sympa. Le tour de grande terre est vraiment magnifique. A faire !
