Soufrière is located inside the Guadeloupe National Park in the southern part of Basse-Terre. It's one of the nine active volcanoes of the Petites Antilles arc and rises to 1,467 meters of altitude.
Hiking to the summit allows you to have a beautiful panorama on Grande-Terre, and the surrounding islands (Les Saintes, Dominica, Marie-Galante, Petit-Terre, La Désirade, and Montserrat).
In the departmental forest, you can also go canyoning with your friends or family.
