About

Phi Phi Islands are located in Thailand between Phuket and the Strait of Malacca.

The easiest way to access the islands is either by speedboat or by long tail boat from Krabi Town or Phuket. Phi Phi Don was a former fisherman island that was used as a coconut plantation from the 1950’s onwards.

The spectacular beaches and turquoise coloured waters led to the famous film The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, being filmed there. The release of the film saw a huge influx in the islands’ tourism, attracting both holidaymakers and adrenaline junkies from around the globe.

Today the Phi Phi Islands are Thailand’s most popular destination for scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking and many other marine sports.

The best season to visit the islands is from January to April as this is the driest period of the year.
