Andorra is a country located between Spain and France right in the middle of the majestic mountain range of the Pyrenees. Even if it’s in the list of “the smallest countries in the world” Andorra is a one of a kind place, filled with charm and surrounded by flawless panoramic views of nature.

This autonomous Catalan country has 3 natural protected sites that are worth visiting. Valles del Comapedrosa Natural Park located north of Andorra. Its mountains are the perfect scene for climbers to try and get to the highest peak at 2942 metres.

Situated up north Andorra you’ll find Valle de Sorteny Natural Park. This hiking and trekking paradise has over 1000 hectares of protected landscapes plus over 700 species of flowers and plants endemic to the Pyrenees. Roaming around this area will take you to be right in the middle of two countries!

Valle del Madriu-Perafita-Claror is a glacial valley in the southeast of the country. This natural park was declared as a World Heritage Site back in 2004 by UNESCO due to its cultural landscape. Here mountaineers attempt every year to reach the top of Pico de la Portelleta at 2905 metres above sea level.

There are over 25 different climbing routes of different levels, 5 gorges that will make your heart pump and endless mountain biking tracks around the highest summits of the country.

During winter, the mountains are covered in snow and skiers fly in to enjoy the ski resorts of the country. Here you’ll have countless routes for ski touring, backcountry skiing as well as snow parks that will blow you away.

Though the sledding was amazing, it was hard to find the location or our guide. No clear signs.

The wooded area is picturesque, but it was a bit slushy and we did the same route twice.......a larger area would have been better.

Initiation un peu chère
