Lanzarote: What to do when you get there ?

Part of the Canary archipelago, Lanzarote is a beautiful Spanish island located in the Atlantic Ocean. Lanzarote is the most northern and easternmost island of the archipelago and its popularly known as the ‘Island of Volcanoes’, due to the great volcanic activity since the early eighteenth century.

Lanzarote’s unique formations are due to the volcanic activity in the island and over 100 craters, creating a fascinating dream-like location. You can actually go to a restaurant where the chefs cook over a crater! But if this is too ‘mainstream’ for you… try out cooking on a rock in to Timanfaya National Park!

Not only do you get to eat ‘volcanic’ prepared meals but also tour around the island to find the perfect location for your favourite water sport. It is known as one of the best spots in Europe to surf, the best spots? Caleto Caballo or Caleta de Famara.

With beautiful black sandy beaches as well as white and golden sand beaches with temperatures that never go below 14°C nor higher than 28°C, extreme water sports are a must!
Immerse yourself and explore the beautiful underwater volcanic formations & an impressive maritime fauna unique for the island.

Nature lovers can discover the ‘Garden of Cactus’ or explore the ‘Cueva de los Verdes’ a lava tube in the island that lies beneath the protected area of the Canary Islands. Hike around Montaña Clara, a small uninhabited islet just 2km away from the island!

Whatever you choose, you can really it over in Lanzarote!
