Portofino is a small picturesque fishing village on the Italian Riviera in the region of Liguria. It has become a famous vacation resort due to its beautiful harbour and its association with VIPs and artistic visitors.

The city is located in the province of Genoa and it is the hub close to countless incredible destination on the Riviera, as Santa Margherita Ligure, Recco, Rapallo, Chiavari or the fantastic region of Cinque Terre.

These villages are part of the Riviera di Levante, a unique coastline that stretches from the Gulf of Genoa to Tuscany. These towns are nestled amidst rocky reefs, terraced vineyards, clean sea and pure nature.

In Portofino’s surroundings you can practice many outdoor activities to discover the pure nature. Recco and Chiavari are less than half an hour from Portofino and are two perfect destinations for surfing. Recco is a fairly exposed reef break and it usually gets local winds wells, but groundswells do happen and the ideal wave angle is from the south southeast. The spot is surfable at all stages of the tide! 

Portofino’s clean waters are worthy to be discovered by scuba diving and freediving: a unique experience to explore the beautiful seabed. Alternatively you can practice a wide range of water sports: SUP, Kayaking, Windsurf, Surfkayak and Waveski.  The surrounding hilly territory is ideal to go on trekking excursions, mountain biking and climbing.
