Ravenna: What to do when you get there?

Ravenna is a wonderful city in the north west of Italy in Emilia Romagna. Ravenna can boast a propitious history of lusts: from 402 and 476 it has been the capital of the collapsing Roman Empire.

Ravenna is very famous for its splendid historic centre: a total of 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites among monasteries, byzantine mosaics and Dante’s grave. Ravenna is only few kilometres away from the Adriatic Sea, and the Regional Park of Delta del Po', the mouth of Italy’s biggest river. There it is possible to visit a surreal natural lagoon, characterised by water channels and an incredible quantity of birds: perfect conditions for bird watching.

The city’s surroundings offer plenty of choices for outdoor lovers! Few minutes away from the city centre you will find a modern cable park where you can practice wakeboarding and water-skiing.

On the long flat beaches it is possible to practice a huge variety of water sports: kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and SUP! The back country is hilly and green, and it is full of trails where you can enjoy mountain biking and trekking excursions.

Ravenna is the perfect destination for to mix harmoniously art and sport travel!
