About

In the vast landscapes of Norway you’ll always find an exceptional spot with endless possibilities of extreme sports. Norddal happens to be one of those exceptional spots.

Located in easternmost part of the Sunnmøre region along the border with Oppland county, Norddal is an adrenaline junkies dream. Those of you who enjoy water activities can go sea kayaking in Valldal with guided excursions to Fjørå, Vikasætra and Tafjord. The outings vary between 4 to 7 hours and give you ample opportunity to discover the stunning views of Syltefjellet Mountain from the waters.

Sea kayaking not thrilling enough for you? Then why not go for a white water rafting excursion in Valldøla River. The best time to visit is during the last half of June as this is when you’ll experience highest water levels, alternatively you can always brave the river after heavy rain, as high water levels mean more speed and more fun!

Want something more vertiginous? Come, climb and then abseil down the majestic Valldal Naturopplevingar! Scale the 15-25 metre cliff with its 3 different routes and 3 different difficulty levels. And whilst you’re there maybe you should pay a visit to the cave next door to the climbing wall. The cave is approximately 80 meters long and 15 meters deep, bottoming out at the same level as the highest tides; a great taster of caving for those of you keen to get a look at the world beneath the Earth’s surface.

Or maybe you want to combine the exhilaration of the water with the excitement of the land? In that case canyoning is definitely the activity for you. You’ll find a spectacular gorge located next to Gubrandsjuvet, just 15 km from the centre of Valldal. With this canyon you’ll be able to enjoy half a day of swimming, jumping, abseiling, ziplining and climbing.

I’m sure you’ll agree there really is something for everyone. Come one, come all!
