Porto Pollo: What to do when you get there ?

Porto Pollo is a unique beach in the north of Sardinia, close to the city of Olbia and its airport. Portopollo doesn’t give anything away to the most charming Caribbean beach.

Situated between Palau and Santa Teresa Gallura, it is a large inlet of white sand surrounded by Mediterranean brush facing the Maddalena Islands, near the mouth of the Liscia and the Gabbiani Island, which is connected to the dry land by a thin strip of sand.

Porto Pollo is among the most famous spots in northern Sardinia for kitesurfing and windsurfing. That’s because of the constant winds, the emerald waters and green mediterranean vegetation.

The spot is located on a narrow peninsula and therefore leads into two distinct riding areas, one on the Western shore and another on the Eastern shore. The eastern shore is exposed to side-offshore winds providing very flat water, and is reserved to windsurfers. The western shore is wider and exposed to side-onshore winds and opened to everyone. The very regular winds are the reasons why Porto Pollo get’s very crowed during the summer : you will feel great vibes in the beach bars.

Porto Pollo is also a great destination for every sort of water sport: sailing in the Maddalena, SUP, scuba diving, freediving and more!
