Best things to do in Ticino

Ticino is an Italian speaking canton located in the south of Switzerland. Ticino is home to two World Heritage sites; the Three Castles of Bellinzona and Monte San Giorgio.

The climate in Ticino is milder than the rest of Switzerland, as it is exposed to a higher number of sunshine hours, over 2,300 sunshine hours compared to only 1,700 in Zurich.

A little known fact about Ticino is the large number of outdoor activities and sports you can enjoy there.  

One of the best ways of visiting the area is on bike. There are numerous trails and routes that will take you to off the beaten tracks to see many beautiful marvels, both natural and manmade. Forests cover about a third of the canton, but there are also the lakes Maggiore and Lugano that add to the sumptuous backdrops.
