The highest peak in Vitosha Mountains, Cherni Vrah, the Black Peak, is easily accessible so much that it's mountainsides reach the city! This closeness makes it perfect for a day out! In no more than an hour and a half to escape city life and traffic and reach Aleko Hut visiting Dragalevtsi Monastery on the way there.
Once you've reached Aleko Hut, the place where you will leave the vehicle, the actual hike will start! A nice 2-hour hike on a moderate slope will challenge you but with the guidance of one of VisitBulgariaOn's professionals, you'll reach the summit! The difficulty can be adapted to your level since there are several paths on the mountain.
As you make your way up, you'll encounter marvelous views of the Rila Mountains to the south and to Balkan Mountains to the north! Also, a breathtaking view of the city beneath will serve as a backdrop during almost the entire hike.
If you are up for it, you can have lunch either at the small restaurant of the meteorological station at the top or at Aleko Hut!
