Situated in the small resort of Wanaka on the outskirts of Mount Aspiring National Park, the region is served by its own local airport - making it accessible to international mountaineers looking to access the thousands of climbing routes a short 15-minute drive from the town centre. (For any film buffs, Wanaka is also the setting for Lord of the Ring's Middle Earth.)
Suited to children and adults alike, this 3-hour beginner's abseiling excursion is an accessible, confidence building course that helps beginners to get acquainted with simple rope techniques, guided belay and varied terrain. Itineraries are adapted to suit all ages and experience levels - even height-shy first timers.
