Founded in 1974 in partnership with Glentanner Station, Alpine Guides as part of Mount Cook Heli Ski pioneered helicopter skiing in New Zealand. Today, their team of passionate and professional guides offer heliski adventures in exclusive terrain across Aoraki Mount Cook National Park.
Mount Cook Heliski is professionally guided by Alpine Guides, and flown by The Helicopter Line. They specialise in small group tours and focus on safety. Run & organised by some of New Zealand's most experienced mountain guides, all heliski tours are guided by IFMGA-certified instructors, ensuring best and most experienced heliski guides in the business.
With departures from both Queenstown & Wanaka now made possible thanks to collaborations with domestic air carriers, Mount Cook Heli Ski can provide unique heliskiing opportunities to both boarders & skiers across the Southern Alps.
Home to six major peaks, the Mount Cook Region is the single largest heliski area in New Zealand. This is a wilderness of ancient glaciers, azure lakes, and endless runs. There are runs for all levels of heli-ski ability, from our exclusive terrain in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, to the shores of Lake Pukaki in the Southern Ben Ohau Range.
