El parapente de oxígeno o parapente O2 fue fundado por uno de los mejores atletas de parapente de Grecia, Vagelis Stamelos. Un miembro del equipo nacional de parapente que ha participado en numerosas competiciones internacionales fundó el centro de parapente en Plataies para ofrecer clases de parapente y vuelos en tándem.
Vagelis empezó a volar por primera vez en 1998. Desde la primera vez que se subió a un vuelo en parapente biplaza, tuvo la electrizante sensación de que tenía que aprender a volar de forma independiente.
Tres años después, Vangelis ya había conquistado un campeonato nacional de parapente en Grecia, y empezó a viajar al extranjero para explorar nuevos territorios. Ha volado en muchos lugares famosos de parapente como: Owens Valley, Annecy, Piedrahita, Tirol, Cornizzolo, Fiesch, St.Andre, Ibaraki, Tolmin y muchos más.
Siendo miembro del equipo nacional durante muchos años, y miembro del equipo de ADVANCE Vangelis tiene más de 2500 horas de vuelo. Desde 2009 también es miembro del equipo austriaco llamado NOVA.
Desde 2013 está ofreciendo cursos de parapente para principiantes, y vuelos en parapente tándem para compartir con usted la increíble sensación de volar.
