Part of the Gitgit waterfall system, this canyon includes a range of rapells, jumps, slides, swimming sections and a zipline. Gitgit is only a 10km drive south of the Singaraja in North Bali and is easily accessible from the main Bedugul-Singaraja road.
Meet your guide at the activity base in Gitgit for this canyoning excursion to Tukad Sudamala. One of the most accessible and multi-faceted gorges in the waterfall system, this beginner nature trail is a fun yet challenging half day adventure for the wild at heart. Tucked away deep in the volcanic valley, start with a short safety briefing and kit breakdown – learning the techniques you’ll be using during the day that include solo belay, scrambling and self-rescue. Kitted out with a wetsuit, harness and helmet, spend the next four hours following the natural contours of the landscape – abseiling down raging waterfalls, jumping into freshwater pools and enjoying the natural slip n’slides carved into fast shoots by the whitewater! Supervised by your guide, you will even get to zip line over impassable sections of the gorge – returning in time for a hot shower and a traditional Balinese buffet back at the camp.
Tukad Sudamala has 5 abseils (24m), 7 optional jumps (8m), 4 natural toboggans (7m), one zipline (35m) and up to 20m of swimming against fast flowing water. The total canyon descent takes 4 hours and is suitable for confident swimmers.
