An all-terrain adventure that travels up the coast and through the archipelago’s important nature sanctuary, discover dramatic vistas and challenging terrain as you follow your guide along the spine of the island on this two-hour tour. Each buggy is two-seater – meaning you can take a buddy and share the price! Leaving the resorts of Santa Maria, head into the dry salt flats that define the area’s industrial past, leading into the desert where you will test your handling on rocky boulder fields, coastal outcrops and the shifting sands of the Serra Negra dunes. Travelling to the Sal summit, enjoy views that stretch out over the south and catch a glimpse of Boavista Island in the distance. A sanctuary of subtle biodiversity and hidden surprises, reach Palha Verde oasis and enjoy the striking evergreen interior – marking the moment with postcard quality photos at Ponta Preta Beach. A shortcut will take you back to the activity base where a return shuttle will take you back to your accommodation.
This activity is suitable for drivers over the age of 18 years old who hold a full, valid driving licence. Passengers are permitted from 7 years old when accompanied by a driver – a small number of passenger-only places are provided (riding with a guide).
