Explore the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Park – Nærøyfjord. We take you to places only accessible by kayaking. Our guide will ensure that you have an unforgettable time!
This trip is designed to show you most of the UNESCO World Heritage Park as we explore the historic area of the Nærøyfjord, which for centuries has been playing an important role linking together western and central Norway.
The world’s most beautiful and dramatic fjord is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Fjord kayaking in a unique setting, with sheer, snow-topped mountains, waterfalls and idyllic farms clinging to the mountainsides. The passage through Nærøyfjord is one of the most dramatic fjord trips in the world.
The name Nærøyfjord originates from the norse god ‘Njord’, the God of the Seafarer and the sea.
Nærøyfjord is an arm of the Sognefjord or Sognefjorden, which is the largest and best known fjord in Norway and the second longest in the world.
The Nærøyfjord is a 17 kilometre long branch of the Aurlandsfjord. It is only 250 meters at the narrowest, and more than one kilometer at the widest. The depth varies between 10 and 500 meters. The surrounding mountains are up to more than 1400 meters high.
