Whale Shark Watching: Head to the coast and the tiny atoll of Sumilon Island for a whale shark watching experience. Known as the ‘gentlest giants in the sea’, paddle out on outrigger canoes and swim with fish that can reach 10m long! Use a snorkel and fins to watch them feeding in their natural environment – surrounded by tropical reef and colourful reefs.
Kawasan Falls: Leave the coast and travel into a rainforest, reaching the trail on a thrilling motorbike ride through the jungle to the starting point of Badian River. Traverse rock walls, steep drops and swim upstream in tropical and scenic surroundings – testing your sense of adventure with a 30ft cliff jump! The course ends at the breathtaking Kawasan Falls, where you’ll be able to relax on a bamboo raft and enjoy the freshwater pools.
Kawasan Falls is considered an easy canyon due to the lack of rope work or abseiling - but is suited to adventurous beginners. During the length of the canyon, there are opt-out areas with ladders for anyone who does not wish to participate. Please note that whale shark sightings are seasonal (November – May) and cannot be guaranteed.
