Description de l'activité

Combing culture, ancient history and stunning landscapes - explore the heritage and heart of western Sicily on this guided quad-biking tour through the  Calatafimi-Segesta countryside.

Travelling the path that led Sicily to become the rich gastronomic and geological crossroads it is today, this scenic tour of  Calatafimi-Segesta showcases the region's highlights via a rugged tectonic landscape - celebrating the fertile legacy it left behind. Taste fruit from vineyards and orchards nurtured by volcanic ash, travel to the top of Sicily's peaks and marvel in the architecture that still punctuates its rich landscape.

Situated inland from Trapani, Calatafimi-Segesta is an hour drive from Palermo's Falcone–Borsellino Airport. Renowned for its large agricultural wealth that includes popular wineries and orchards, the small town is better known for the ancient Greek temple of Segesta and the amphitheatre that dates back to the 5th BC - both of which are part of the Segesta Archaeological Park.

Travelling in small groups on two-seater quad bikes, this 2-hour tour will start at the Baglio Pocoroba farm and continue through the Segesta countryside - stopping in local orchards and vineyards. Navigating back roads and dirt tracks to Mount Pispisa via pine forests and oak groves, the tour will cross rocky gorges to reach the Temple of Segesta before returning to the quad centre.

Using wide dirt tracks and back roads, the tour is conducted at a leisurely pace and is recommended for beginners and families alike. August is the hottest month in Sicily with an average temperature of 22°C (72°F) and the coldest is January at 9°C (48°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 10 in July. The wettest month is December with an average of 78.6mm of rain.
