Enjoy an authentic experience with the gentle, famous reindeer from Lapland in Rovaniemi. Welcoming adventurers of all ages on this family-friendly excursion.
Rovaniemi is located in the Lapland region of northern Finland. This beautiful city is characterised by its diverse landscapes, with snowy forests and wilderness during the winter months. Reindeer are a species native to the Arctic, and they play a significant role in the culture, history, and livelihoods of the indigenous Sami people of Rovaniemi.
This excursion begins at the meeting point in Rovaniemi (pickups are available within a 15km driving distance). You will meet your experienced guide, who will drive you to the authentic reindeer farm, approximately 20 minutes away. This experience is perfect for families as all ages are welcome. When you arrive, you will get to meet these beautiful creatures.
After meeting and interacting with the friendly reindeer, it’s time for a short sleigh ride. You will go through a safety briefing, before getting set up in a comfortable sled. The strong reindeer will pull your sled into the snowy forest surrounding the farm. As you ride, take in the stunning scenery and breathtaking views. After the ride, you will return to the farm. Traditional Finnish hot blueberry juice and gingerbread snacks will be served. While you warm up, the guide will share fascinating information about reindeer herding. Learn about how the reindeer herder takes care of them and the life cycle of these majestic animals. After the tour, you will return to Rovaniemi.

Course of events
- Pick-up from your accommodation or meet at the starting point in Rovaniemi
- Drive to the reindeer farm
- Meet the reindeer
- Safety briefing and set up sled
- The reindeer sled ride adventure begins!
- Return to the farm
- Enjoy hot drinks and snacks
- Return to starting point and transfer back to Rovaniemi
Activity requirements
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by adults paying the full price.
Special terms
At least 2 people are required for this tour to take place on weekdays and Saturdays.
At least 4 people are required for this tour to take place on Sundays and public holidays.
