Explore the second largest sea cave in Greece on this kayaking excursion to Papanikolis!
Discover Greece’s maritime history from the tide line on this sea kayaking excursion to Papanikolis cave on Meganisi Island. Big enough to hide a submarine during WWII, this karst rock formation is renowned for its aquamarine lagoons, secret beaches and classified naval legacy – an epic adventure for the curious at heart!
Meet your guide at the activity base on Mikros Gialos Beach for this full-day sea kayaking excursion to Papanikolis Cave! An itinerary that visits some of Greece’s most beautiful beaches along the southern shoreline, so you don’t need to be a naval buff to enjoy this tour! After a short safety briefing and paddle practice, you’ll follow your guide at a casual pace to Agios Ioannis beach (one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece) where you’ll stop for swimming and snorkeling.
This coastline offers a wide variety of scenery that ranges from beautiful sandy beaches to rocky formations that lead to the famous cave of Papanikoli. Used as a natural shelter for the submarine that now bears its name, explores this massive karst formation from the tide line – anchoring the kayaks at a hidden paradise resplendent with fish and corals. Here, you’ll have a few hours to relax, swim and enjoy a traditional Mediterranean lunch, visiting Agios Ioannis one last time before arriving back at Mikros Gialos Beach.
