Prepare for a bumpy ride in this thrilling buggy day trip to the colorful Landmannalaugar highlands with lots of scenic stops along the way!
Ready for an entire day of extreme quad biking? This special trip to the highlands has it all: a thrilling buggy ride, fresh mountain air, stunning scenery, moss-covered lava fields, waterfalls, volcanoes, and more! The ride kicks off in Hella where you will meet your expert guide and be provided with all the necessary equipment and safety instructions. Now it's time to hit the road!
From Hella, you will drive on a narrow muddy road towards the active Volcano Hekla. This volcano is very well known in Iceland, last erupting in 2000. You can enjoy views of the beautiful flora and birdlife of this area before another stop at Þjófafoss, a stunning waterfall in the Þjórsá river, the longest river in Iceland. This is a great spot for some photos before continuing on the journey.
Driving through the moss-covered lava fields that surround a quiet lake, you will finally reach Landmannalaugar. Here, you will have the opportunity to swim in a hot spring where the naturally warm waters have a temperature of 36-40 °C, even in the midst of a snowy winter. While you soak in the water or explore the area by foot, your guide will prepare a nice meal for you to enjoy! Once the day has reached an end, you will travel back to Hella by buggy.
We recommend you bring an extra set of clothes since you might get a little wet.
