Activity Snapshot
Activity description
Discover the Via Ferrata in the District Council of Ribeira de Pena and discover the natural wealth of the region with family and friends!
Ribeira de Pena is located in the Vila Real District, a northern region of Portugal. It is found on a zone of transition between the harsh and mountainous Trás-os-Montes and the verdant Minho. It is crossed by the calm waters of the Tâmega River, displays unique characteristics and also offers visitors the unmistakable flavour of the region's green wine. Equally rich is the heritage left by man since remote times, visible at abundant prehistoric remains such as the Stone Age engravings of Lamelas, several dolmens and archaeological monuments and fortified settlements such as the ruins located at Monte do Cabriz, near the village of Cerva.
A Via Ferrata is made by a vertical route equipped with steel cables, wire ropes, clamps and suspension bridges that will allow you a safe ascent to areas that are difficult to access for beginner climbers not used to develop this activity. We can say that it is an adventure/nature sport activity suitable for almost everyone, with the particularity of bringing together several generations. The Via Ferrata when practiced with appropriate equipment is a completely safe activity and allows all lovers of active tourism, to know, discover and explore the natural wealth and richness of the region.
You can enjoy this activity during all the year with family and friends!
