Activity Snapshot
Activity description
Embark on a unique sensory walk through the exposed rock galleries and tunnels of the Glacier Canyon in Grindelwald where history meets geology.
It took 250 million years for Mother Nature to carve out this incredible canyon! Where there used to be a glacier, today only the canyon remains which allows you to walk through it on a comfortable, wheelchair and stroller-accessible path in just about a couple of hours.
The rushing water cascades freely from the mountains into the Lütschine River below, sometimes causing a sudden rush of wind through the canyon and a rapid temperature flux as rays of light reflect along the steep walls.
Surrounded by cliffs as high as 300 metres, this 1 km long canyon is truly enchanting with its 170 m² Spiderweb and exposed rock walls. Maintained by a professional team of experienced mountain guides, you can safely enjoy the geological and historical aspects of this gem in Grindelwald.
This is the perfect way to slow down a little and look at the Swiss Alps from another angle. Come and get your ticket to the glacier canyon walk in Grindelwald today!
Walk through the 1-km-long canyon at your own pace, without a guide.
