Activity description

Join this sightseeing tour from London and set off for a day of exploration and sightseeing in the Cotswolds with a professional guide!

Leave the hustle and bustle of London behind and take a guided tour of the Cotswolds! This accessible sightseeing tour is the ideal activity for discovering London's surroundings with ease. With an experienced guide who knows the local culture, you can learn more about England while having a great time with family and friends.

The Cotswolds is classified as an Area of Outstanding Beauty, famous for its traditional villages, rolling hills, cream teas, sheep and Victorian follies. Just a 2-hour drive from the UK's capital, the Cotswolds are the perfect place to discover the English countryside on a day trip from London.

Your guided sightseeing tour begins in London, where you will board a comfortable air-conditioned bus. During your journey to the Cotswolds, the guide will entertain you with interesting stories about the Cotswolds region. Once there, you'll first visit Burford, where you'll have free time to explore the sights and shops of this old village. You will then explore Bibury, a village nicknamed "the most beautiful village in England". You will visit the ancient market town of Stow-on-the-Wold for lunch.

The town of Burford is known as the southern gateway to the Cotswolds. You'll have time to explore the town, including the main street which slopes gently down to the River Windrush, lined with shops on either side, and which hasn't changed much since the 1500s, and Burford's parish church of St John the Baptist, where hundreds of Levellers (a group fighting for equality and democracy) were imprisoned - and some executed - during the English Civil War.

During your guided tour of the Cotswolds, you'll also visit Stow-on-the-Wold, a pretty village with a market town that's the perfect place for lunch. In Stow-on-the-Wold you can explore the Old Church, with its iconic doorway and two trees growing out of the sides. Here you'll find Porch House, 'Britain's oldest pub', once part of Evesham Abbey. There are also many historic sites relating to the Civil War.

After your Cotswolds sightseeing tour, you will return to the bus for your journey back to London. This day trip to the Cotswolds is a great idea to round off your next stay in London!

Don't hesitate! Book this sightseeing tour from London now to visit the Cotswolds and its picturesque villages with an expert guide!
