Meet your guide at the activity base in Papasidero for this gorge walk to Castiglione canyon. Situated deep in Pollino National Park, this supervised excursion will take you deep into the foothills of the Pollino mountains, allowing you to appreciate the scenic beauty and wild nature of Italy's largest national park. Like all good adventures, your tour starts with a short safety briefing at kit breakdown learning about the route and terrain ahead. Following Castiglione upstream, travel in the footsteps of your guide as you climb, swim and scramble along the natural contours - stopping to learn more about the area's natural heritage and cultural significance. The highlight? Swimming under Castiglione waterfall - a 30m cascade hidden in a dramatic gorge, the perfect photo opportunity and a great place to cool off!
Conditions
This activity operates from May - October and is suitable for adventurous beginners from 12 y/o. The gorges that you cross are deeply carved into the rock and are often characterized by a steep slope. The obstacles consist of waterfalls, rock jumps and water slides.
