Probably one of the most surfed areas in Ireland, Portrush is only 26 miles from Ballycastle to Magilligan Head, but this outstanding stretch of natural beauty is home to long beginner's beach breaks that make it so popular. 

At Alive Surf School, they believe surfing is a sport for absolutely everybody no matter age, shape, size or fitness. Their classes are suitable for kids from five years old. Alive is the longest running surf school in Northern Ireland, priding themselves on their philosophy – ‘be safe and have fun’.

Learn to surf in Northern Ireland with Alive's internationally experienced surf instructors. All their instructors are fully qualified beach lifeguards and have well over 50 years of surfing and beach safety experience - making them the most experienced team of surf instructors on the North Coast - boasting a 100% safety record.

Each surfing lesson with Alive Surf School lasts for two hours and includes all equipment as well as a free drink and snack for after the lesson is finished. Free hot showers and changing rooms are also available at the beach - making sure you get the best value for money possible!
