Since 1990, Aspiring Guides represents an international community of mountain specialists with a strong connection to the Southern Alps. Aspiring Guides offers guided climbs in Mt Cook & Mt Aspiring - along with a selection of seasonal Climbing Courses, Ski Touring, Mountain Trekking & Glacier walking tours.

Internationally experienced, professional and qualified guides
The mountaineering achievements of the Aspiring Guides team combine with a comprehensive knowledge of guiding and instruction. These are the fundamental ingredients in providing a safe and enlightening connection between guests and the mountain environment. While their activities are centred from the base in the Mount Aspiring region, the company's permits and experience extend throughout the Southern Alps including Fiordland, Westland and Mt Cook National Parks. 

Providing guided ascents of Mt Cook & Mt Aspiring
The team explore areas of the national park that include Gillespie, Treble Cone & Queenstown - organising instructional courses, rock climbing, ski touring, ice climbing, hiking and multi-day Trekking. A vast area diverse in geography, the team pride themselves in matching discerning clients with professional, experienced and personable guides. Their mountain guides are qualified to international IFMGA standards through the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association or equivalent national associations.
